End of month dating period
Keep in mind, that the EOMONTH function gives you only the serial number of the date, which you then have to format as a date.
It should be said that the DATE function gives you more leeway than EOMONTH since it can return literally any day of the month you choose.
Your invoice numbers can also be customised to include the date and/or period.
Check out our blogpost on our suggestions for your invoice numbers and learn how easy it is to update them in Debitoor.
Is the a easy way to crete a new data frame date variable that represents the last day of the month?
Below is some sample data: This uses the same concept given by James above, in that it gets the first day of the next month and subtracts one day.
For example, get the date of the last day of the next month. For example, get the date of the last day of the current month - 8 months = 6 - 8 = -2 = October (-2 12 = 10), 2015!
Of course, these reports can be run any time during the period but at the end - once you have entered all your information, sales and supplier invoices, customer receipts, supplier payments, salary details etc. Then use the TEXT function to “zero fill” the number.Note: the EOMONTH function returns the serial number of the date. The EOMONTH function gives the last day of a given month. For example, 1995 will show as 95; 2010 will show as 10.To achieve this, first we use the MOD function to find the remainder when the year number is divided by 100.
In Debitoor’s larger plans, you can generate reports with just a click, including the profit & loss, balance sheet and VAT report.
